Deck & Railing Repair in the South Hills
Decks in this area take a beating from freeze-thaw cycles. A wobbly railing is a real safety problem, and a couple of soft boards get worse every winter. I handle board and railing repairs on existing decks — the maintenance work that keeps a deck safe without a rebuild.
What this covers
- Loose or wobbly railings and posts re-secured
- Individual rotted or soft deck boards replaced
- Popped nails and screws replaced with proper fasteners
- Stair tread and stringer repairs
- Loose lattice and skirting
- Gate and hardware adjustment
What I don't do
- New deck construction or full rebuilds
- Permitted structural work and footings
- Deck staining of an entire deck (touch-ups only)
When a job needs a licensed specialist, I'll tell you straight instead of guessing.

Deck & Railing Repair questions
- How do I know if it's a repair or a rebuild?
- If the framing and posts are solid and only boards or railing sections are bad, it's a repair. If the structure itself is soft or undersized, that's a licensed contractor's job and I'll say so.
