Door Repair & Adjustment — Pittsburgh South Hills

Older South Hills houses settle, and doors are the first place you notice it. A door that rubs the jamb in summer, a bedroom door that won't stay latched, a closet bifold off its track — these are 30-to-90-minute fixes that most remodeling companies won't drive out for. I will.

What this covers

  • Interior and exterior doors realigned
  • Sagging doors shimmed and hinges reset
  • Latches, strike plates and deadbolts adjusted or replaced
  • New knobs, levers and privacy locks installed
  • Bifold and closet door track repair
  • Storm and screen door hardware and closers

What I don't do

  • Cutting new door openings in walls
  • Garage door springs and openers
  • Automatic commercial door systems

When a job needs a licensed specialist, I'll tell you straight instead of guessing.

Door Repair & Adjustment questions

My door sticks only in the summer. Is that fixable?
Yes. Seasonal swelling usually means the door needs a small amount planed at the rub point or the hinges reset so the door hangs true year-round.
Can you install a new door on the existing frame?
Yes — a slab swap or a pre-hung interior door in an existing opening is a normal appointment. New openings in framing are outside what I take on.
